2025 Ordinary General Assembly:

In a complex context, SOS Children's Villages Bolivia strengthens its commitment to children

Within the framework of transparency, active governance, and commitment to the human development of children, adolescents, and young people, SOS Children's Villages Bolivia held its 2025 Ordinary General Assembly in the city of Santa Cruz, with the participation of its National Board of Directors and the majority of its members in attendance.

One of the most significant moments was the message from the President of the National Board of Directors, Luis Roberto Urquizo Martins, who emphasized the importance of this democratic space for the organization:

"The assembly is an important space for transparency and governance within the organization. This is a meeting where we strengthen SOS Children's Villages and its work. SOS Children's Villages is a great organization due to its direct work with children, which makes it relevant and important in our context, especially during this crisis that the country is experiencing."

During the event, the 2024 Management Report was presented, reflecting a strategic reorganization to address the challenges of a complex national context marked by currency devaluation, economic, political, and social crisis, increased poverty, and greater social risk for children. With a results-oriented approach, the organization strengthened its programmatic services in three categories: Advocacy, Family Strengthening, and Alternative Care, reaching more than 23,500 highly vulnerable children, adolescents, and families across the country.

"How difficult it is to summarize a year in which what we do as SOS Children's Villages is so profound and vast; working directly with children and families who have gone through serious difficulties and seeing them empower themselves day by day inspires us greatly, but there is also much to be done," said National Director Alfonso Lupo.

Likewise, the 2024 External Audit Report: Opinion, Financial Statements, and Internal Control was also shared, which showed a clean and reasonable opinion, demonstrating transparency and the proper use of resources. At the same time, the appointment of the new auditing firm for the 2025 period was approved, consolidating accountability as an organizational pillar.

The President also highlighted Bolivia's role in the global transformation of SOS Children's Villages International Federation. "We are actively participating in the construction of a more efficient, agile, and transparent model," he added, referring to the country's leadership in the new international governance system.

Within this framework of organizational strengthening, the assembly also welcomed five new members from the fields of journalism, psychology, activism, entrepreneurship, and youth. Each has stood out by their commitment to children's rights and social welfare, broadening the organization's social base.

The assembly reaffirms SOS Children's Villages Bolivia's commitment to building a more protective society for children, coordinating efforts with communities, authorities, and strategic partners, with a management approach focused on the development of children, adolescents, young people, and families.
