Approval of the Annual Report and External Audit Report of 2023
During the 2024 Ordinary General Assembly of SOS Children's Villages Bolivia, the 2023 Annual Report and the 2023 Yearbook were presented, products that represent the results of the organization.
General statistics:
- Implementation of three categories of services: Advocacy, Family Strengthening and Alternative Care.
- We offer services to 15,957 children, adolescents and young people, and 4,285 participating families.
- There are 463 Bolivian human resources (63% pedagogical staff, 31% technical and administrative staff, and 6% management staff).
- Four main sources of funding: 39% international subsidy from Promoting and Supporting Associations (PSAs), 30% local income, 26% international sponsorships and 5% from projects with PSAs.
- A total of 82% of the resources go directly to programmatic services to children, 11% to investment for funding and 7% to administration.
- Likewise, 65% of resources are allocated to Alternative Care services, 34% to Family Strengthening and 1% to Advocacy.
In the explanation, the National Director, Alfonso Lupo, informed that the organisation experienced important changes in 2023, such as the creation of the National Strategy 2024 -2028 and the transformation of its eight programmes to nine standard Results Based Management (RBM) projects.
He also mentioned that child and youth safeguarding took a leading role in the organisation, making it part of the identity and the centre of its action.
With regard to funding, he reported that 2023 began with a 10% reduction by a Promoting and Supporting Association (PSA), and additionally another PSA announced a 30% reduction over the next three years.
In addition, the Treasurer of the Board of Directors, Daniel Tejada, read the economic report and the results of last year's external audit, carried out by the internationally represented company, KMPG, which expressed a clean and favourable opinion:
After presenting the financial statements of SOS Children's Villages Bolivia, the Treasurer presented them to the Assembly for consideration, which were unanimously approved, showing transparency and good administrative management.
